5800 Image Browser loading failure

A few weeks ago I discovered a problem with 5800's image browser(Gallery/Images and Video). A quick web search later, and I found i handfull of others reporting the same problem. The fix suggested to them was to backup the phone memory card using the ovi suite. Format the card then restore the memory card.
This method seems sound in my experience, but my issue was solved more simply and swiftly. But, on the other hand, it's always a good idea to backup often regardless.

How my Image browser fault was corrected, run a full phone backup befor proceeding:
1. Connent phone to pc via usb cable.
2. When prompted on the phone's screen, select a 'Mass storage' connection type.
3. Running a vista operating system you should be prompted to scan and fix file system errors. Select the recommended option of a complete scan and fix, including recovery of bad sectors.
4. When fix is complete, disconnect after running a 'Safely remove'.
5. Problem solved.

So this is how it's done if you have a vista pc. I can only guess this solution will work similarly with an xp pc or any other file system correcting application.

New Beginnings

I have been wanting to get this discussion up and running for while now.
It was December last year (2008) before my summer holidays I received by beloved Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic, imported straight to my workplace from Hong Kong.
From the time that a first saw the Nokia 5800XM on the Nokia Australia website, I was immediately intriged. It had top of the class functionality in a tidy touchscreen package.
